DO NOT take your car in for service at this location. They are liars and tried to rip me off big time. They called me when my car was in just for summer tire install and said my transmission oil was burnt and I needed a flush. They also told me my ball joints were so bad that I should not drive it without being replaced. I played along knowing that my transmission oil was fine (by the way I proceeded to have the local Ford dealer and an independent Transmission shop confirm that the transmission fluid was just fine). Can Tire quoted me $498.69 to replace the fluid. Ford quoted me $287 for the same work. (Which company do you think would do a better job? The Ford dealer of course). Crappy Tire quoted me $486.51 to replace the two lower ball joints. I took it to the Ford dealer in town and they inspected them and told me that only one of the ball joints was worn and that I would need to replace it in about another 5,000 kms. I was quite mad and went to Canadian Tire and talked with the owner. He even smelled the transmission oil and said it was fine as he had previously worked in a transmission shop. He stated that his automotive employees do not work on a commission or bonus structure and he would get to the bottom of this and call me the next day. (I checked with other Can Tires and was told that every service desk person in all the Can Tire stores work on a commission or bonus structure). Does anyone at Can Tire Port Alberni not lie? The owner never did call me. GO FIGURE.

So the moral of this story - ALWAYS GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR SERVICE WORK ON YOUR VEHICLE AND NOT THIS CRAPPY TIRE.

They will rip you off in the shop, and they do shoddy work. BUYER BEWARE!

Do not recommend, Went for a tire change and tried to convince me I needed a new $200 battery because it took a couple seconds to start up. Anybody with minimal mechanical knowledge would know this would not fix it. Wouldn't trust them to even swap a battery.

Big thank you to James in Auto who channeled his calming demeanor to talk me off the cliff when I was losing my cool over my trailer battery issues today and to Nicole at the till who was a bright ray of sunshine X 2. Both of you remembered us on our second trip to your store - which meant a lot. Great work you two!

Ok first of all I wanna say that the store is one of my favorite places to shop. It's what a shoe store is to women but for men mostly. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Now the reason for the lower rating. One is they don't have enough tellers on at the right times and the new cattle chute err I mean customer waiting aisle is absolutely dumb. One now has to pass 15 to 20 people if it's busy, all the while saying excuse me, pardon me, can I squeeze by you please, if one wants to leave the store when not buying anything. In the plus side you are allowed to bring your four legged furry friends with you into the store and they open early and close late.
